The European Master in Business Studies (EMBS) programme offers exciting international opportunities for hands-on learning during its two-year study programme. Throughout the four semesters of the programme EMBS students are involved in activities that extend their regular lecture-based schedule. For instance, they participate in various projects and group work as well as taking part in an Annual EMBS Conference. In the second semester EMBS students participate in an intensive programme in partnership with other European universities to maximise the exchange with students from different countries and cultures. Additionally, seminars and company visits allow students to meet professionals and have discussions with company representatives.
Examples of the Additional Activities within the EMBS programme include:
The EMBS programme takes place in four different countries: Italy, France, Germany and Spain. In the course of the programme the students see and experience environments that differ considerably from their home country. Therefore, flexibility and adaptability are essential.
During their studies, several company visits are organised for EMBS students. These give students valuable insight into various businesses, how they operate and the way in which different roles and functions are combined within the organisation. These visits also offer EMBS students the opportunity to speak to representatives of the companies.
During one week students set up their start-up, with the help of professionals who will teach and coach them. It includes the art of pitch, how to build a business model, checking the customers, setting the marketing strategy etc.
The Annual EMBS Conference takes place every year in a different European City. This Annual EMBS Conference covers a broad spectrum of topics, as well as discussions about the core of the EMBS programme. This intensive educational experience enlarge the students’ horizons, also creating a sense of community. It is indeed a great opportunity to meet former EMBS students as well as members of Alumni association.
The EMBS programme is entirely in English. However, the students have to live in countries where English is not the official language and, thus, they have to acquire at least basic skills in languages of the countries that are part of the programme.
Every EMBS student experiences the advantages but also the difficulties of four different educational systems. This means that the students have to deal with different organisational structures and teaching styles every semester. In some countries, the lessons are largely based on theory, whereas in other countries practical approaches are used.uring their studies, several company visits are organised for EMBS students.
