Historically classified as a ‘Town of Art and History’, nicknamed the ‘Venice of the Alps’ due to its three canals crossing the historic town, Annecy is famous for its beautiful buildings, unique setting and high quality of life. Located along one of the most beautiful and natural lakes in Europe, next to the Swiss and Italian borders, its inhabitants enjoy a truly perfect environment. This privileged situation contributes to its bustling economy, today mostly focused on animation, outdoor sports and tourism. Overlooked by its 12th century castle, Annecy has preserved its historic centre whilst using its stunning natural landscape to develop numerous leisure activities for every season.
Throughout the year there are many cultural events that light up the capital of the Haute-Savoie. Towards the end of winter the Venetian Carnival populates the streets of Annecy with sumptuous masks and costumes while in June the Annecy International Animated Film Festival offers indoor and outdoor screenings, parties and award ceremonies. August is the month of the Annecy Classic Festival for classical music lovers and the Lake Festival, which features the biggest fireworks show in Europe.
Moreover, the students of the University Savoie Mont Blanc have the chance to study alongside hundreds of international students. Indeed, the University Savoie Mont Blanc has more than 250 active agreements with universities located in nearly 90 countries.
This university, apart from offering a unique opportunity to study and conduct research, also provides students with accommodation facilities at the heart of an exceptional environment, between lakes and mountains.
All the courses of the EMBS programme take place at the campus of Annecy-le-Vieux at the IAE Savoie Mont Blanc.
