N.B. Applicants who do not have yet completed their Bachelor’s degree can apply for the EMBS master’s programme, provided they meet the following requirements:
If Non-European citizens:
- graduation and exam completion by June 30th, 2026 having passed all exams and the graduation exam (if any);
- submission of the official Bachelor’s degree diploma by September 30th, 2026.
If European citizens:
- completion of all exams required for the Bachelor’s degree by July 31st, 2026;
- graduation by October 31st, 2026 having passed the graduation exam (if any);
- submission of the official Bachelor’s degree diploma by November 30th, 2026.

Applicants who meet these conditions will be “conditionally admitted” to the programme, pending submission of the degree certificate. Formal enrollment will only be granted once the Bachelor´s certificate has been received.

To be considered eligible for application, interested prospective students must fulfill the following minimum requirements:
a. Three- or four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree (at least amounting to 6 semesters and 180 ECTS) in Economics, Management or Business Studies or other study backgrounds (Social Sciences, Languages, Engineering) with a focus on Economics & Management awarded by an internationally recognized institution at university level. The contents of the aforementioned Bachelor studies must comply with the requirements of the EMBS and, in particular, must provide sufficient economic and managerial knowledge on the basis of a relevant study programme. This means, they must contain at least 50% of courses in general belonging to bachelor studies of management and/or economics.
b. Bachelor’s degree with at least an overall national grade of 2,5 in Germany, 95/110 in Italy, 13 in France, 6,5 in Spain or the equivalent in other countries.
c. Proof of English proficiency in all four skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) at least at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: e.g. TOEFL 560 paper-based or 87 internet-based; IELTS 5.5, or equivalent language test; certificate of the language centre of your home institution; English as a mother tongue; university English exam; proof that university studies were completed at a recognized institution where English is the primary media of instruction; etc. Test results are only required if the applicant’s first language is not English or if the language of instruction of his/her previous degree is not English.
d. Good knowledge of the most common computer applications.
Fulfilment of the aforementioned requirements has to be documented and submitted with the application by the given deadlines.
The EMBS Admission Board can decide to admit a candidate on condition that he/she passes additional courses before the start of the programme.
Applicants who do not have yet completed their Bachelor’s degree, can apply for the EMBS master’s programme, provided they meet requirements listed in a) and b) by the following deadline:
If Non-European citizens:

Selection Criteria and Assessment Procedure
- Applicants will be selected by the four EMBS partner universities in accordance to a common selection procedure set by the Admission Board.
- Each application will be subject to a review by the Admission Board, which will evaluate overall the profiles of each candidate. Based on the scores attributed, a merit-based ranking will be compiled.
- The Admission Board reserves the right to verify application information, and it might deny candidate admission at any point of the application process if a discrepancy between the self-reported and verified information is noted. Candidates will be notified in case of denied admission.
- Applicants will receive a notification email detailing the outcome of the selection process. This email will clearly indicate the result of their application: admitted, not admitted, or placed on the waiting list.
- Each accepted applicant must confirm their acceptance in written form and by paying a nonrefundable admission confirmation fee of 300 (three
hundred) Euro to Università degli Studi di Trento (the admission confirmation fee will be deducted from the overall national administrative fee due by the student to
the University of Trento) according to the instructions that will be reported in the acceptance notification. - Roll-overs of the ranking list will be conducted until all 30 positions are successfully allocated. Specifically, roll-overs will be conducted until 30 June 2026 for Non-European applicants. For European applicants, a unified waiting list will be created by merging the waiting list from the 1 st and 2 nd selection rounds. This merged European waiting list will be valid for subsequent roll-overs until August 31, 2026.
Interested applicants are required to fill in the online application form thoroughly and to upload/enter the documents/information listed below:
- ID (possible only for European citizens) or valid passport
- High school leaving certificate
- If already graduated: University degree certificates and diplomas (in English) for the completed Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an internationally recognized higher education institution (university or university college), as well as for any other degree programmes relevant to the admission process (in English).
- If not yet graduated: University enrollment certificate for a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) as well as for any other degree programmes relevant to the admission process (in English)[1].
- Academic Transcript of Records (in English)-, including: a complete list of exams, scientific-disciplinary sectors-SSD if the degree is from an Italian institution, grades obtained, weighted average of exams/GPA,- and the range of minimum and maximum grades. This transcript must cover all courses taken and all semesters completed, not just the final year or semester, and should include courses from the Bachelor´s degree as well as any other degree programmes relevant for admission.
- Official list (in English) of any outstanding exams, including the corresponding ECTS credits or local units/points remaining to be completed.
- Proof of English proficiency in all four skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) (minimum CEFR B2 level).
- Video Presentation (in English) of up to 1 minute (60 seconds) in which applicants introduce themselves and explain their interest and suitability to join the European Master in Business Studies (EMBS).
- Questionnaire (in English): applicants will be asked to answer a series of specific questions related to their academic and personal background.
- One reference letter: a letter addressed to the EMBS Admission Board, including the referee’s full contact details.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): An updated CV detailing educational, personal and, if any, professional experience (in English).
- Passport size photo
- If already available, European Health Insurance Card-EHIC (European side with validity).
[1] Non-EU and EU students who still have not completed their first-level degree, but that expect to graduate by June 30th, 2026 or October 31st, 2026 respectively have to provide a temporary certificate from their University stating their expected graduation date and final grade.

2. Selection and Outcomes
The Admission Board will evaluate applications and short list admitted students according to the following
timeline:
- Non-European & European (Round 1) Applicants: mid-May 2026
- European (Round 2) Applicants: end of June 2026
Notification: All candidates will receive an email detailing their result: admitted, not admitted, or placed on the waiting list.
3. Enrollment and Confirmation Fee
To secure their place, admitted candidates must follow these procedures:
- Confirmation Fee: A non-refundable fee of €300 must be paid to the University of Trento. This amount will be deducted from the overall national administrative fees.
- Deadlines: Specific payment instructions and deadlines will be provided in the acceptance email. Failure to complete enrollment within the given deadline will be treated as a withdrawal.
- Second Round Exception: Candidates admitted during the second call may not be required to pay the confirmation fee, provided they complete the full enrollment procedure within 7 days of the admission notice.
4. Post-Admission Support and Logistics
Once the spot is confirmed, the EMBS partner universities will provide a comprehensive pre-arrival guide covering:
- Visa & Enrollment: Detailed steps for international procedures.
- Mobility Grants: EMBS students might have the possibility to be supported through mobility grants offered by the Universities. Please note that these grants are supplementary and will not cover all costs of living in Europe and attending the EMBS programme (fees, housing, books, travel).
- Accommodation: While partner universities offer guidance and resources to help students find suitable housing, they cannot book or secure accommodation on behalf of the students.
